Meet Steve
"I believe that public service is exactly that … a calling to serve my friends and neighbors here in Lancaster and York counties. It’s an example that I live by and one that my wife and I try to teach our children every day."
Family
Steve and his wife, the former Lisa Crills, have been married for 23 years. They live in Neffsville with their
son Donovan, a high school freshman, and daughter Mackenzie, who is in second grade. The head of the McDonald household is Gizmo, a 4-year old Shi Tzu.
As an adopted child growing up in Lancaster County, Steve McDonald learned important lessons about family values, hard work, and service to others. Those are the principles that have guided Steve as he’s worked to serve his friends and neighbors as Lancaster’s Recorder of Deeds.
Community

The McDonald family attends Grace Brethren of Lititz, where Steve and Lisa are Kindergarten Sunday School teachers. Steve has been involved in numerous community organizations over the last 20 years, including the Executive Committee of the Lancaster & PA Junior Chambers of Commerce. The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Steve with the Sterling Award, The Snyder Award, The Peifer Award, and The Keystone Award for Outstanding Community Service.
Steve has been an active parent at Donovan and Mackenzie’s schools. He’s been a classroom reader, and has helped to coach a number of sports teams, as well as serving on parent committees.
